This is a sample of a *collection of more than 1,400 black and white negatives. All shots were taken between 1905 and 1945 by my grandfather. He used a variety of formats including 2 1/4 square, 3 1/2 square x 4 1/2, and 3 x 5. My grandfather traveled with his camera all across the United States and several times abroad.

The original processing envelopes are with the negatives. On most of the envelopes he wrote the dates and names of places depicted. Some of the pictures are of people wearing the clothes and styles of a particular culture and era. Many of the pictures are of towns and cities everywhere in Europe before World War II. While others are scenics of visits to Yellowstone Park, Niagra Falls, New York City, and the Grand Canyon. These photographs include pictures of automobiles, airplanes, steamships, and castles, even Mt. Vesuvius erupting in 1909.

I have kept these negatives in archival storage since the death of my grandfather in the mid 1970's. All have been contract printed and catalogued in order to market them.
